Don 2 is a classic action/crime thriller that doesn't let go, even for a moment. More importantly, the plot has been finely crafted, with every twist and turn falling into place like a complicated albeit neat little jigsaw. With a canvas that goes on a cross-country ride -- Thailand, Malaysia, Zurich, Berlin -- the film challenges you to hop aboard its high speed scuttle and attentively follow the exploits of its glamorous gangster. One who oscillates between two avatars -- Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible) and James Bond -- without losing out on his desi charisma.

The film seems to have been made for the movie buffs, who love international thrillers. It is not surprising if viewers go to sleep in the first hour of the film due to boring dialogues, long dance sequence and Hrithik Roshan's hilarious cameo. But the post-interval portion of the film is sure to hold the attention of the audience. The second half is an exciting ride with several adrenaline rush moments. In Don 2, Don (Shahrukh) surrenders himself to the police (Om Puri, Priyanka Chopra), who send him to a Malaysian prison, where he meets his old foe Vardhan (Boman Irani). With his foe, Don escapes from the prison by mixing poison in food served to everyone there. Then they go to Berlin to rob the currency plates for which Don takes the help of a hacker (Kunal Kapoor). Shahrukh Khan has played a wicked, debonair anti-hero in Don 2 and he has lived it up with gusto. He also impresses the viewers with varied looks in the film. As Roma, Priyanka Chopra has delivered a high order of performance. Although Lara Dutta's character has less scope, she also wins the audience's heart with her glamour. Kunal Kapoor, Om Puri, Boman Irani and others have also delivered good acting.

Shah Rukh Khan tries too hard. There is no aura of a Don around him. Nothing sinister even though he tries bloody hard. Priyanka Chopra is left mouthing, 'Oh my God,' 'Really,' and 'I'm on my way.' She is not convincing as the character she plays and is as clueless as Farhan and SRK. Om Puri looks as stunned as the rest of the cast while a role etched out for Kunal Kapoor is laughable. Even Aly Khan who was impressive in a movie released two weeks ago, JO HUM CHAHEIN (Featuring two debutants), is left groping in the dark. Boman Irani, what have they Don(e) with you! A third most disappointing factor is the use of Hrithik Roshan. OK, even if you have to use him as a face mask, at least don't show his double thumb. This way we will think he is a part of the cast! And yes, there is a hint of Don 3 making its way...
